Dual Torsion Spring Usage

Aug 25, 2023|

Double torsion springs are two types of springs with the same number of turns wrapped in opposite directions by a single spring material on the same mandrel. The middle of the two springs is a retaining ring, and the two ends are support points for increasing torque. The torsional stiffness of each spring is twice that of one of the two springs used as a single spring. The stiffness of a double torsion spring is 4 times that of a single spring, and the deformation is 1/4 that of a single spring. Therefore, double torsion springs have high efficiency. Compared to yellow torsion shrinkage background springs with the same outer diameter, springs with this structure can achieve twice the deformation, i.e. twice the deformation angle. Therefore, this type of double torsion spring is suitable for situations where space is small and a large deformation angle is required, or where two torques act on the same plane.
